What instruments do you teach?
Currently I offer lessons in electric and acoustic guitar.
I can also offer music production lessons.

How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are £25 per 30 minute class.

What will I/my child learn?
Guitar – You/your child will learn how to play guitar, in addition to music theory.
Music production – Lessons can vary in content. You can learn to use music production software, sound design, production and mixing. Content of lessons will be in line with your goals.

Should I bring my own guitar to lessons?
Yes! Please bring your own guitar to learn. It is really helpful to have an instrument you feel comfortable with. You will also learn much faster if you have your own to practice on at home.
Amps are provided – so you only need to bring your guitar.
If you do not have a guitar, please inform me in advance so we can consider this and make some arrangements.

What age do you teach?
I teach children from age 8+ and adults. You are never too young or old to learn!

I/my child has already had a few lessons and knows a little about the instrument, do I have to start from scratch?
No! In the first lesson I can assess what you already know and we can take it from there.

Can you offer morning/weekend times?
I can offer morning/weekend sessions if that better fits your availability, however, this is not a guarantee.

Can I have longer than 30 minutes?
Yes this can be accommodated – but this will mean paying for 2x lesson slots a week.

Do you still offer classes on bank holidays/school holidays?
Yes! I will let you know of any times I have planned off with at least a week’s notice. If you have any planned holidays please let me know as soon as possible.

How long does it take to learn?
It depends how advanced you want to be. It can take months to learn the basic fundamentals and years to advance through instrument grades.

How will I know my child is progressing?
I will always provide updates on your child’s progress. I’d be happy to record your child’s progress in class if this would be of help. I can also support your child to progress through instrument grades and take their music exams.
For long-term students, I can offer occasional lessons with the parent to observe as a opportunity for the student to show-case their skills.

Can I watch my child’s lesson?
I find that children learn best in a 1:1 teaching environment, so I ask that you drop off your child for their lesson and pick them up promptly.

If you have any concerns about this, please do let me know in advance so we can make arrangements to accommodate you waiting at our location.

Where are lessons held?
Lessons take place at my home in Lyde Green, approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the primary school / local Sainsburys. The address will be provided on booking. Parking is available on the driveway.

On rare occasions classes can be offered at your home/other location, but this will be considered in extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. I can offer virtual lessons via Teams/zoom at request.

Should you need to cancel a class for whatever reason, please let me know as soon as possible.

  • If you cancel with 24 hours or more notice then I can either offer a refund or rearrange your class

  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, I will not be able to offer you a refund you or rearrange this class

  • If you do not attend a class without informing me, I will not be able to refund you or rearrange this class.
